My Scene is a line of fashion dolls introduced by Mattel in 2002. Produced to rival MGA's Bratz. The series has branched out into a popular ten-doll collection that is still in production today, but primarily sold in Europe and Latin America. No new My Scene lines have been seen in the United States since 2008, with the exception of Icy Bling earlier on, followed by Street Sweet.

Dolls

Characters

The doll series was first introduced in the fall season of 2002, a little before the Flavas, to compete with the Bratz dolls. It included three dolls ( Barbie , Madison , and Chelsea ) with different ethnicities and personalities, and a collection of extra fashions for each character. Majority of the characters are named after different landmarks and places in New York City. While the line originally had only three female characters, more dolls were slowly added to expand the line. By the beginning of 2003, two more lines were in production, introducing another female character, Nolee , and two boys, ( Bryant , and Hudson ). Delancey and Ellis premiered in the "Hanging Out" line which debuted in late 2003. Kenzie debuted in the "Getting Ready Line" of 2004. Nia debuted in either the 2008 line Heaven Scent or Perfume Party. There are now 10 friends in the My Scene gang, 2 discontinued characters and 4 special edition dolls.

Girls

Kennedy - A Caucasian girl, with blonde hair, light skin and blue eyes. She replaced Barbie completely when she was removed from the line, supposedly moving to California in 2006 (this is noted in an online webisode where it is said the two "look like twin sisters"). Kennedy is an Aquarius who is "a celebrity in training" and came from Hollywood. She is named after John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and her pet is Yorkie (recycled from Barbie's pet).

Barbie - Barbie's look is "cute but edgy", her astrological sign is Libra, her "fave" hangout is at the spa, and she loves yoga, chatting with cute guys, going to the movies and going to parties with her friends. She loves massage and pedicures, "her" beverage is iced coffee and she can't live without her cellphone. She later moved to California and was replaced by Kennedy.

Madison - She is African-American (a few dolls have been produced with brown, hazel and others with green eyes), her light brown/deep tan skin, and her medium brown hair (In "Roller Girls Remote Control" she has been produced with blonde hair and tan skin). She was one of the original three dolls and the major shopper of the gang. The official My Scene website says that she is an ultra uptown urbanite, she loves to travel in style, spends her time getting manicures at her favorite spa and going shopping, her astrological sign is Leo, she lives with her dad and she can't go anywhere without her journal. In Europe she is called "Westley", but in the U.S. she is named after Madison Avenue which coincidentally is a major shopping district. Her pet is Bella .

Chelsea - She has pinkish skin, brown eyes and reddish-brown hair (leading some collectors to believe that she is partly Irish, others believe that she is Hispanic). Chelsea is the artist of the group, and was one of the original dolls. She wants to be a fashion designer and according to the official website, her signature look is "original and funky", her astrological sign is Scorpio, she loves retro clothing stores, her prized possession is her notebook and she loves pets. She is named after the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City where coincidentally is where the Fashion Institute of Technology is located and her pet is Mambo (referred to as Churro on products, but debuted as Mambo).

Nolee - She is Asian American, with black hair, pale skin and purple or violet eyes (but in some toons and a few dolls her eyes are brown). She was the first doll to be added to the My Scene line and was originally the fortune-telling skater girl of the group. Her astro sign is Gemini. She is one of three dolls who does not have a boyfriend after Bryant was discontinued and according to the official website she is the best keeping secrets and the best friend to ask for advice, believes in good luck and karma and her look is sporty. She is named after New York's Nolita and her pet is Cookie . While she used to be a prominent character in the lines, it is believed that she was fazed out by Delancey when Delancey's hair was changed to Dark Brown/Black with blonde highlights. Her boyfriend was also recycled to Delancey.

Delancey - Originally produced with maroon streaked platinum blonde hair, green eyes, pale skin and a spot in her cheek. In 2007, she started being produced with dark brown hair in what is believed to be an effort to faze out Nolee. She is from California and was the second doll to be added to the My Scene line and is often the hardcore skater and surfer chick. When she was first introduced she was in nearly every playline, but didn't appear in any line since early 2005 until the "My Bling Bling Spa" line. After her hair color change, she became a regular playline doll again with the 2007 lines. She is Chelsea' s cousin. The My Scene website says that she loves to hang out at the beach, her astrological sign is Taurus and her look is edgy, funky, and colorful. She has a sweet tooth and is all about girl power and loves Hawaiian flowers. She was named after Delancey Street in NYC. Her pet is named Sugar .

Kenzie - She has ginger hair, light freckled skin and green eyes and she is from Atlanta, Georgia. A cross between special edition and regular character, Kenzie has only appeared four times since she was introduced in 2004 and is believed to be discontinued along with "Bryant" , "Barbie" & "Nolee". She and "Nolee" were very close and according to the official website she works in the mall, her astrological sign is Cancer, she loves making people laugh and her style is cute with a splash of southern sass. She loves baking treats and her pet is unnamed. In doll form, the pet was a brown repaint of Barbie's dog, Yorkie. Nolee originally met Kenzie at the mall with the girls. The girls did not really like Kenzie, but Nolee had known her for years. It turned out that Kenzie owned a cart at the mall and ended up being a fan of Chelsea's designs. (This is all according to an old Myscene webisode.)

Nia - with hazel eyes, tan skin and light brown hair, she is the quintessential hispanic girl. She was introduced in the 2008 lines and is from Miami and was born in Mexico City. She is the dancer of the group and from the website, she likes to be loud, funny ,and the life of any party. She is currently together(kinda) with Lucas. She has a sweet tooth and loves to read romance novels.

Boys

Bryant - The Multi-Cultural Bryant is of Cherokee, Italian, English, and Jamaican descent and has green eyes and strawberry blonde hair and he is the only My Scene doll to be officially discontinued. He was introduced in season two along with "Hudson", and made his final appearance in season three. Originally created as a love interest for "Chelsea", he was eventually marketed as "Nolee"'s boyfriend. It is rumored he was created to look like American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini. Recently, a character who is identical to "Bryant" was featured in a webisode on "Kennedy"'s homepage. He is not supposed to be "Bryant", but a rock star who went to school with "Kennedy" in Hollywood. He was named after New York's Bryant Park.

Hudson - He is Euro-American with light-blue eyes, light skin and blonde hair. He was one of the first male dolls to be introduced in the My Scene line and is often romantically paired with "Chelsea". According to the official website, his favorite sport is soccer and his sign is Capricorn. He is named after Hudson Park and Hudson River in New York.

River - He has black hair (Sometimes dark brunette), light skin (tan skin in some toons) and brown eyes, and some sources say he is Hispanic, but no official My Scene media has said so. River is the most well-developed male character, most likely because he is "Barbie" doll's official boyfriend. According to the official website, he is a rock musician, his sign is Sagittarius and his favorite music is Post-punk scene and he likes foot massages. He is presumably named after Hudson River. It is now cited from Kennedy's character page that "her guy" is listed as River.

Sutton - He is African British with dark brown hair (Sometimes black), dark skin and brown eyes, and he is from London. His character is least developed of all My Scene males — the original doll came with art supplies, while later dolls came with musical and even computer accessories. He is sometimes romantically paired with "Madison" and according to the official website, he has an urban look and his sign is Aries. He is named after Sutton Place in New York.

Ellis - He is Euro-American and he has brown hair, light skin (Fair skin in some toons) and green eyes. He wa
